The DOP owns significant amount of fixed assets and properties in real term. The estimated value of fixed assets owned by DOP presently is as follows.

B. Machineries, Equipments and Accessories
The DOP is equipped with valuable printing machineries and equipments. It has installed several Offset and Letter Press related machineries and equipments from time to time. They range from very old-fashioned or outdated letter press equipments to moderate type of Offset press equipments. However, most of the equipments are not considered as compatible to fulfill the ultramodern security printing requirements of the government.

C. Technical Know-how and Expertise
With the long experience gained in the field of printing, the DOP entertains the extra advantage of having experienced and skilled manpower working under it. Several senior technical staffs are experienced and efficient to handle the printing tasks independently. These are the staffs in charge of operating the printing press of the DOP regularly. However, most of them have gained the essential knowledge on printing press through learning by doing approach. Most of such staffs lack the formal and specific education background required for the operation of printing press effectively. Not any extensive long term enrichment training has been provided to them by the government in the past. In contrast, only basic press operation training has been provided to them. It is an irony to note that the extensive skill enrichment training on the operation of ultramodern printing technology has never been the priority of the government in the past. Consequently, most of them lack required technical know-how to operate ultramodern printing machineries such as nylo, gravure and intaglio technology. They need to get extensive skill enrichment training on the operation of ultramodern security printing press efficiently. In addition, the DOP must need to hire/appoint specific skillful technical staffs capable of handling the security printing job efficiently.
